Episode #161- Taped November 27, 2019
We talk about the trauma-informed care approach and what it means in caring for our children and youth.
According to the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) study, exposure to abuse, neglect, discrimination, and violence increases a person’s lifelong potential for serious health and mental problems and engaging in health-risk behaviors, most especially in our youth.
Joining us is Radhika Cruz, MA, a trainer and consultant
from the National Resource Center for Youth Services at the University of Oklahoma.
She will talk about our youth and how the trauma-informed care approach can be beneficial in the healing of our youth.
