Healthy Black Bean Burger protein style

Ingredients
  • 2 (15oz) cans black beans, drained and rinsed
  • ¾ cup uncooked old-fashioned regular rolled oats
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • ½ small onion
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 scallions, thinly sliced (garnish)
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • top with salsa or BBQ sauce
  • lettuce, tomato slices, red onion slices
Instructions
  1. In your food processor, blend beans, oats, garlic, onion, soy sauce, and chili powder until smooth (about 30 seconds)
  2. Transfer bean mixture into a large bowl, stir in the scallions
  3. Heat oil in a non-stck skillet over medium-high heat. Shape your mix into 4 patties
  4. Cook patties until browned on each side. Place 1 patty on each lettuce leaf and top with ¼ cup of salsa. Add lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion slices and cover with lettuce leaf.
